Our History
Originally founded in 1997 in Palestine, Israel and the U.K., Barron University began offering its special doctoral programs in the United States in 2002. Since then, student enrollment has continued to expand throughout the U.S. as well as in Europe, South America, Canada and Australia. Its Dean, Dr. Colbey Forman, in recognizing the unmet need for professional training in the areas of alternative holistic medicine and psychology, developed a program that massively accelerates the learning process and provides the resources and training that have until now been unavailable solely within one program.

Welcome to Barron University! We are excited that you are viewing our website, Barron University has evolved its programs so that now and in the future, BU will be exclusively offering the integrative approach of the Dual Ph.D. Barron University's understanding and commitment to the integrity of the body and mind as integral parts of the same system is the main reason behind this decision. In the paradigm of health and wellness Barron University is presently pioneering, no study of the mind can be complete without including the body and visa versa. Our university is truly a world leader in this approach of integration of elements; an approach that is both ancient and leading edge simultaneously.

Our Educational Approach: Global Distance Education, Teleconferences, and Live Summits
Because our approach affords our student's maximum flexibility only found in distance education, many of your Barron University classes are as close as your iPod, or the student portal on your computer, and this allows for total freedom to learn when you're able, and then connect weekly with a truly supportive community of healers all over the world!
We have students in Brazil, the Netherlands, Canada, as well as across the US. Our weekly teleconferences are currently joined by an amazing family of healers from Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Indianapolis, Toronto, and Brazil.
Our community then comes together every few months for intensives, called "Summits". Our students often refer to these gatherings as some of the most powerful and transforming experiences of their lives! These Summits are full days and nights, making maximal use of our time together. Testing and certifications are conducted during these times as well, so that every student attending the program is able to demonstrate to themselves as well as our faculty their mastery of the tools, processes, and skills they have been acquiring and honing.

Ultimately, a prospective student cannot evaluate what an educational experience will be like at Barron University just by visiting this site or www.bethelivingbridge.com.
The only way an interested student can get the information and understanding required of this new and pioneering program at this point is to connect directly and meet the people of BU, which includes the faculty, staff and students.
The powerful and practical elements in a Barron University curriculum cannot be accurately presented by listing them on a page in an internet site. A curriculum detailing the activities a student might engage in during a Summit to New Mexico, learning skills of a Native American shaman such as, "...Tuesday morning student and shaman will awaken before dawn to collect various roots and herbs bearing specific medicinal properties..." simply wouldn’t communicate the deep and transforming elements of that experience.
The same is true with the integration of elements in our curriculum. A student could study and get certified in Chinese herbology, Chi Kung, Ayurveda, and Homeopathy all in separate processes by taking separate courses on their own, but being able to use, understand and explain them in an inter-related way while sharing those experiences within a support system of like-minded healers, is a completely different level of mastery.
Admission at Barron University is an entirely personal process, and the administration only accepts students based upon several live interviews culminating in a
final dialogue with the Dean, Dr. Colbey Forman.
